GIA to offer more than 140 scholarships for 2011

Carlsbad, Calif–The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) launched its 2011 scholarship season this June, kick-starting it with an offering of more than 140 scholarship opportunities for students, including two new $10,000 awards from Tiffany and Co.

Scholarships cover a variety of programs and are available for both GIA’s on-campus and distance education programs, including several on-campus awards for GIA’s international locations in Thailand, India and London. Among the many courses and programs that students can take part in are jewelry manufacturing arts, the Graduate Gemologist and Accredited Jewelry Professional programs, and pearl and lab classes, among others.
